Crying

A faintest breeze tickled my cheek,

I brushed it away, feeling meek.

My heart was heavy, weighing down,

On my face was a miserable frown.

I held back the tears that wanted to flee,

One broke loose and trickled free,

I let it fall, what harm could it do?

But as it fell, the others dropped too.

A rain of tears streamed down my face,

They hugged me in their warm embrace,

And as the tears all left my eyes,

I realized I just had to cry.

Endnote: This was just a really short poem, inspired by some friends of mine who were helping me through poet’s block. Thank you for reading!
